Production pipelines: Stendrome
Regarding the production management of Stendrome, it was important to provide the team with a macro production pipeline to properly coordinate the work of all its members. Since the team consists of only a few members, most of whom are not interested in the "deep" aspects of management, I implemented two different macro pipelines.
The first one, provided as soon as possible to the team, had for objective to show in an extra synthetic way the production of the game as a whole, the interactions between the different departments, the validation steps as well as the people in charge of the approval.
This synthetic tool was perfectly suited to the needs of our small and very autonomous team, while allowing, at a student scale, to provide the necessary informations. I am however aware that at a larger scale, additional informations such as the needs/objectives of the different stages should be represented, the dependencies more clearly displayed and of course a tool translated in English.
In order to overcome some of the shortcomings of the first pipeline, I implemented a second tool which, although still on a macro scale, goes into more detail about the overall production and allows to grasp its size and functionality in a more complete way.
Here you can find much more detail about each departments as well as their dependencies, more clearly displayed. The validation steps are clearly visible so that they cannot be forgotten. The pipeline follows more accurately the 5 steps of project management in order to display the role of each step in the production and of course, is translated into English.
The objective of this tool was not to replace the first pipeline but to allow my fellow students to be more aware of their role in the overall production process by providing them with additional informations, that's why informations like validators or objectives of each task are not displayed, since the team is already aware of them.
From a more personal point of view, it also allowed me to highlight my knowledge of the process and the different phases of a production, how complex it can be and especially the need for a solid management.
